Thai stems are traditional massage tools used in Thailand since ancient times. They combine soothing heat with therapeutic natural herbs and essential oils, and can be used in massage or incorporated with other treatments such as facial or body wraps.
Benefits: Helps detoxify, relax, relieve muscle tension and joint pain, while stimulating blood circulation.
Ingredients: Plai (Zingiber cassumunar Roxb), Tumeric, Lemongrass, Kaffir Lime peel & leaves, camphor, tamarind leaves, sweet flag, mountain ebony leaves, somboil, (Thai common name for Acacia Concinna), Jeang leaves wrapped in unbleached cotton.
Sprinkle some water on the compress or submerge it in a bowl of water for a few minutes to allow absorption into stem. Steam until the aroma of the essential oil has been stimulated, and place directly on the face and neck. When the compress starts to cool, continue with the second compress while re-steaming the first.
Do not overheat the compress (test the temperature before applying to the skin).
Do not apply compress within 24 hours of injury or trauma.
Do not take a shower/bath immediately after applying the hot compress (allow the essential oils to be absorbed into the skin first).
To avoid potential allergic reactions, test the compress by applying tightly on the hand before application to the face.
Store un-used compress in sealable container/plastic bag and place in a cool, dry location.
Store used compress in a well-ventilated location until completely dry, then place in sealable container/plastic bag and refrigerate until next application. Compress can be reused two or three times.
